Crested Butte Ski Area Upgrades in progress
$57.3 Million in Improvements for 2005-2006 ski season Mountaineer Square (formerly known as Town Center) will begin construction July 2005. It will take 18 months to complete; it will include 93 resort residences, a spa and fitness center, a new bus depot, a water/fire pit plaza retail and restaurant amenities and convention facilities. The convention facilities will debut in December 2006 for groups and meetings of up to 400. Prospect Phase II infrastructure. Extensive base area landscaping T-Bar will be replaced with a fixed-grip quad. A yurt at Paradise, which will house an on-mountain demo center and ski school facilities. New rental equipment-which includes 80 pair of teaching skis. New uniforms for lift operators Upgrade Painter Boy and Gold Link lifts with new siding and "lofts" to match. Redesign and upgrade of the Kids' World Corral. A Kids' daytime tubing hill at Painter Boy and a Kids' trail map that will include kid-only trails, fun zones and club houses. Upgraded snowmaking pipelines and more hydrants for more efficient snowmaking. This will enable us to open Silver Queen, Paradise and Red Lady lifts on opening day from top to bottom-weather permitting. 3 new snow cats, 2 will replace older ones and one new one. Increased and continued brush cutting and trail maintenance. A new reservation system for CBV-the Inntopia CRS A BBQ smoker on the deck of Butte 66.
